Gifts

The smart addition to
for any store’s product lineup

Gifts are everywhere at Spot On Retail. Not just at the specialty vendors, but also as a pleasant surprise among the collections of other exhibitors. And that’s exactly the strength of this category: a gift serves as an impulse purchase at the checkout, as an add-on to your core assortment, and as an eye-catcher that makes your window display stand out.

February 28 & March 1, 2027

10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Why Gifts Are Indispensable

People want to give. Whether it’s a birthday, a thank-you, a spontaneous gesture, a holiday, or just a moment when you want to let someone know you’re thinking of them: the gift is the gesture. That’s what makes gifts remarkably crisis-proof: budgets may shrink, but the desire to give something never does.

For you, it’s also the easiest way to increase your average receipt amount. A well-chosen gift at the register ensures that someone who came in for one thing walks out with two. And while a bouquet of flowers or a bottle of wine used to be the standard, people now prefer something original—exactly the kind of product you have to see and hold in your hands to truly appreciate.

What You’ll Find on Spot On Retail
  • Impulse-buy items at the checkout
  • Gifts for children’s birthdays and other occasions
  • Trinkets, gadgets, and little quirks
  • Gifts for Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, and Christmas
  • Personalized Gifts
  • Wellness and self-care products
  • More exclusive gifts at a higher price point
  • Ready-to-use displays and counter presentations

By talking directly with suppliers at the trade show, you not only see the product, but also how it sells: what price point works, which display goes with it, and what you can bundle with it. You can’t get that information from any catalog.

“The budget may shrink, but the need to give something does not.“

Free admission

The trade show floor is brimming with inspiration, clever combinations, and exhibitors who know both their collections and the market. In just one day, you’ll discover brands you’d never have come across otherwise, make connections that will benefit you all year long, and, at the same time, exchange ideas with retail organizations like NSO Retail, Libris Blz., and Audax about what’s happening in the market.

Get inspired, meet people, discover new brands. Free admission for entrepreneurs—be sure to mark February 28 and March 1 on your calendar.

Trends not to be missed

  • Personalization goes beyond monograms. Birth flowers, zodiac signs, a personalized name, or a specific date: customers are demonstrably willing to pay more for something that’s uniquely theirs. And it’s one of the few things that a major online retailer doesn’t just offer at a lower price.
  • Wellness as a gift. Candles, journals, sleep kits, personal care products, and everything that evokes a sense of calm. A “care corner” featuring bundles at three price points is quick to set up and runs year-round.
  • Color has triumphed over minimalism. Rich colors, graphic prints, and eye-catching packaging. Not only does this sell better in stores, but it also gets photographed—which is free advertising.
  • Self-gifting is on the rise. More and more often, people are simply buying that little something for themselves. Keep this in mind when setting up your checkout display: it doesn’t always have to be gift-worthy—it just needs to be eye-catching.
  • Niche gifts are popular. Something for the dog, the gamer, the knitter, the hiker. Themed corners work better than one big “gift” bin.
  • Sustainability must be something you can prove. Reusable, recycled, refillable—with proof to back it up. Starting September 27, 2026, sustainability claims must be substantiated, so be sure to ask your suppliers for the documentation right away at the trade show.
